Forged in the heart of the Birmingham Civil Rights movement and founded by activist and philanthropist Dr. Lewis, Agency 54 is one of America’s first African American-owned public relations firms. Recognizing the growing need for marketing inclusion and diversity, Dr. Lewis and his associates worked alongside Coca-Cola in 1955 to launch Coke’s first successful marketing campaign for African Americans. With the huge success of this campaign, Agency 54 would continue to employ creative solutions to diversify marketing by creating clear and concise messages that target audiences and enhance partnerships, engage communities, and open doors to create lasting relationships.
